Lucy Harbin (Crawford) has been in an asylum for 20 years after axing her husband and his mistress during a crime of passion, witnessed by her young daughter, Carol (Diane Baker). While trying to renew ties with Carol, who is now a young woman about to be married, heads begin to roll again. Is Lucy repeating her past?

As campy and as over-the-top it is, especially toward the end, I was really surprised by this one. This may be my favorite William Castle picture yet.
Joan Crawford really does a good job with her role. Although she could have dialed it back every now and again.
My biggest qualm with the picture has to be the epilogue. Something that Crawford insisted on. Poor decision.
I did like seeing George Kennedy in this. His character reminded me of one Lon Chaney, Jr. might have played.

I didn't realize I wrote this after having wrote pretty much the same thing about The Tingler not too long ago. Hmm. Tough choice. I'll have to rewatch both again, I guess
