When it comes to horror franchises some series have more than one timeline, like Halloween and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Some series don't even establish a timeline and have every entry pretty much different from the last, like the series House. Now, with that, when another sequel eventually comes along in a horror franchise do you prefer that sequel to follow just one of the timelines, incorporate a bit of every timeline in its story (homages and what not), or do you like having in-name sequels only? Discuss.

Of the ones listed, I have to say my least favorite would have to be in-name sequels only. There are exceptions, like Halloween III, but I initially didn't like that movie until years and years later. So, yeah. I think my favorite would have to be incorporating a bit of every timeline in the sequel's story, but still just following one timeline within that framework. I like those little nods, but also I like having a solid timeline to fall back on. As long as it's a timeline I prefer.
