What horror movie deaths growing up or even now have stuck with you because they were so shocking and so traumatizing to you? Either because of how gory they were, or even how sudden they were. They could have also been shocking because of who was dying.

The original Pet Sematary definitely knocked the wind out of me as a kid. Especially when Gage got ran over by the speeding truck. I was shocked when one of the kids died in the sewer in The Blob remake. I think that was the first time I had seen a kid die in a movie. Any movie. Horror or otherwise. So, yeah. That's still with me. The dogs in John Carpenter's The Thing. The mother in The Hills Have Eyes. The remake, since I saw it first.Shaun's mom, and eventually Ed in Shaun of the Dead.Ben from the original Night of the Living Dead. As for the remake, I was surprised by Barbara shooting a very much alive Harry. A nice reversal. I'd say the whole of Hausu, which came about because of the horrors of Hiroshima.
