I'm in awe of the days of yore, with stuff like the original Invisible Man and Bride of Frankenstein, as well as the original Nosferatu. All of what came before the '70s and onward. What mastery. What creative genius. For such limited technology. Then the '80s. Boom! That's where some of the greatest, if not the greatest, practical special effects happened.
With that, I chose John Carpenter's The Thing (of course), The Fly remake, and An American Werewolf in London. I definitely had trouble whittling it all down to three, but I'm glad I came to the conclusion I did. Limited choices has its cons, but I find them to be very beneficial from time to time. Can't spend all day choosing one and then another and then another. Am I right?
