It's been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. She now faces a terrifying showdown when Michael returns to Haddonfield, Ill. -- but this time, Laurie is ready for him.

I am NOT going to watch that new trailer unless it happens to screen before Searching, The Predator, and The Nun (the last three movies I'll see in theaters before this one). I already feel like I might actually know too much, haha.

Reading some of the early reviews on Twitter from TIFF has me SO much more excited and I didn't even think that was possible!

I saw this last night with my brother, and we really enjoyed it, even if I thought it lacked a certain something special to put it over the top. It was a bit too big and sprawling for its own good, but I loved the interplay between Michael and Laurie, as well as between Laurie and her daughter and granddaughter. David Gordon Green also did a great job imitating Carpenter with the directing work, and while his script with Danny McBride felt a bit too bloated for its own good, I still thought it got the most important parts right. Overall, as far as Halloween sequels go, it's hard to ask for much better. My full review is here.

Yeah, I enjoyed it alot....but not as much as I hoped I would. I definitely prefer Halloween II (1981) over this, and this kind of felt like just another sequel if you get what I mean. I actually prefer the 'final confrontation' between Laurie and Michael in H20, and H20 has always been one of my least favorites of the series. I loved all the little nods to each of the films in this.

Well, I finally got a chance to see this one today, and I have to say I was very impressed. David Gordon Green and Danny McBride surprised the hell out of me.
A little slow at times, but everything with Laurie and Michael was great. I especially love the final confrontation.
The little nods to the original film were great. I especially love the fact John Carpenter came back to help update his original score with his son. Nice touch.
If I'm being totally honest, this might be my favorite version of Laurie Strode. Without question right now. And I love it that three generations of women face the Shape itself.
I'm really satisfied with this one. May even rank in my top 3 or 5.
