Hitchcock's first talkie. Very innovative. It's interesting to note that the powers that be didn't appreciate the lead actress' accent and so another woman offscreen had to read her lines for her as the lead actress mouthed the words. How's that for a nugget of cinema history. Rather magic. To be able to act like that? I'd say so. Wonderful talkie, in my opinion.
