I'm almost half-way through this book and I have to say . . . I really dislike it. I get that Robert Bloch was pissed about Hollywood making a sequel to Hitchcock's Psycho without his involvement and wanted to drive the point home in how slimy and despicable Hollywood is, but that bitterness really leaves a nasty taste in one's mouth. I mean, I loved reading What Makes Sammy Run?, but this . . . doesn't work. Not for me. It's not a terrible idea to have a movie made about Norman's life, but there has been very little suspense or terror in this sequel. It is nothing like its predecessor. I don't recommend this. Just stick with the movie sequel instead, if I'm being even more honest.
