Of the following Horror series with at least three or more movies, which is your single favorite entry in each? Just cut and paste the list and replace with your choices and feel free to add any other series I forgot. Remember one movie per series, no multiple choice, and also no two-movie only series, has to be at least three or more installments (so movie duos like House Of 1,000 Corpses/The Devil's Rejects, Laid To Rest 1 and 2, etc. not allowable).

Of these series...
Friday The 13th Part II Halloween (original) A Nightmare On Elm Street (original) Saw II Scream (original) Evil Dead (original) Alien (original) Predator (original) Child's Play 2 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) Final Destination (original) The Purge: Anarchy
I can't really comment on Phantasm, Hellraiser, Insidious, The Conjuring, or Paranormal Activity though seeing as I've only watched one or two movies in those series.

Franchises where the original is the best, all argumentation voided: Halloween The Texas Chainsaw Massacre A Nightmare on Elm Street Hammer's Dracula (1958) Alien Hellraiser Phantasm The Howling The Evil Dead Scream The Amityville Horror Psycho Night of the Living Dead The Exorcist Poltergeist Candyman The Omen Ginger Snaps The Silence of the Lambs (this does not include, in my book, Manhunter from 1986) Carrie It's Alive House (1986) Sleepaway Camp The Boogeyman Creepshow Basket Case Children of the Corn Suspiria The Return of the Living Dead The Hills Have Eyes 1977 (throw Craven's films in with the remakes) Fulci's Zombie The Lost Boys Hostel Class of Nuke 'em High Blood Feast (H.G. Lewis's "Blood Trilogy") The Stepford Wives (yes, there are actually 2 sequels and a remake) William Castle's House on Haunted Hill (1959) - the remake+remake sequel count as canonical (for the sake of brand name recognition)
Franchises where Part 2 is the best: Bride of Frankenstein Hammer's Revenge of Frankenstein Rob Zombie's Halloween II (this is debatable, but I sort of see the new Halloween this year as either completing or initiating all the reboot films as their own franchise, so that film and Zombie's films are one entity to me now... or I think I'll vote that way) Critters 2 Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 Demons 2 Leprechaun 2 Ghoulies II I Still Know What You Did Last Summer Slumber Party Massacre II Sorority House Massacre II Troll 2
Franchises where a sequel after Part 2 is the best: Friday the 13th Part 3 Seed of Chucky Puppet Master 5 Final Destination 5 Saw III Night of the Seagulls (Tombs of the Blind Dead franchise, 4th installment) Witchery (Ghosthouse installment, I don't know what #)
Franchises where I'm currently torn but leaning toward: Hammer's The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb Prom Night - the original Re-Animator - the original Species - the original Salem's Lot - can the remake be counted as canonical? Warner Bros' owns the rights to all 3 films Cat People - again, the canon thing is important to verify first The Conjuring - the first film was so terrible, the sequel has to be better just by law of averages... but I haven't seen Part 2 yet
Not a horror franchise, so it's disqualified: Jaws

^ You have excellent taste! Always nice to see Rob Zombie's Halloween II, Saw III, Final Destination 5, Demons 2, and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer get praise since those are sort of "black sheep" entries in some circles. <3
I'll use your list to form mine. Cool that you went in depth and listed so many by the way!
Halloween (1978, separating the remakes from the original 8 entries for this) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) Wes Craven's New Nightmare Hammer's Dracula (1958) Alien Hellbound: Hellraiser II Phantasm III: Lord Of The Dead The Howling The Evil Dead (2013) Scream The Amityville Horror (1979) Psycho II Day Of The Dead (1985)
The Exorcist III Poltergeist (1982) Candyman Damien: Omen II Hannibal (2001) Carrie (1976) House (1986) Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers Basket Case Children of the Corn II Suspiria The Hills Have Eyes (2006) Fulci's Zombie Hostel Part II
Bride of Frankenstein Rob Zombie's Halloween II Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) Demons Leprechaun 3 I Still Know What You Did Last Summer Troll Sorority House Massacre The Slumber Party Massacre
Bride of Chucky Final Destination 5 Saw III Final Destination 2 Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II Re-Animator Species II The Conjuring 2 Jaws 2 Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter Insidious (2011) Lake Placid Anacondas: Hunt For The Blood Orchid Taste Me: Death-Scort Service 3
Left off several because there's quite a few franchises I haven't finished yet.

Wait; I also forgot The Return of the Living Dead.

Psycho (original) Romero's Night of the Living Dead The Exorcist (original) Poltergeist (original) The Silence of the Lambs Carrie (original) Sleepaway Camp (original) [with Sleepaway Camp II close behind] Creepshow (original) The Bride of Frankenstein I Know What You Did Last Summer
Again, if I did not include a franchise we've already listed it's because I haven't seen more than 1 or 2 movies in that series, or none at all, to make an informed decision. With Creepshow I haven't seen 3, but I just know it's going to be something I hate. Same with I'll Always Know.
