- One Cut of the Dead (2018): The final film of the Popcorn Frights Film Festival (save for Scooby-Doo, all of the films on this list came from there), and a hell of a note to go out on. The first half is a technical marvel for being a zombie film shot in a single take, and then you get to the second half, which is a hilarious comedy about the making of that film.
- Deadly Still (2018): Four words. Russian teen horror movie. Whatever you're (pardon the pun) picturing isn't half as much campy fun as this movie wound up being.
- Piercing (2018): I'm not entirely sure what the hell happened in this movie, but I remember enjoying myself throughout, thanks to both gorgeous visuals and great performances from Christopher Abbott and Mia Wasikowska.
- Scooby-Doo (2002): A bad victim of studio meddling that was trying to be two movies at once, a straightforward modernization of the classic cartoon and a raunchy parody thereof, and wound up being for nobody in particular. I'd love to read James Gunn's original script or find out what happened behind the scenes.
- Cursed Seat (2002): Another Russian teen horror movie (seriously, where did Popcorn Frights find these?), but unlike Deadly Still, this one was just dull. It all comes down to the main supernatural force being a haunted seat in a movie theater; you have to go extremely far out of your way to get killed by whatever's haunting that seat, and sure enough, the movie winds up being a whole lot of nothing. Combine that with an ending that's utterly bonkers in the worst way, and you've got yourself a bad movie.
