Halloween: Resurrection Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare [with the remake a close second] Texas Chainsaw 3D [2 and Next Generation aren't great, but they certainly edge 3D out in creativity] Child's Play 3 Scream 4 [if only for the fact that 3 still feels very much a part of the series, where there's a detachment for me in 4] Survival of the Dead The Final Destination Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland House of Frankenstein ('45) The Exorcist II: The Heretic Psycho IV: The Beginning Alien III Poltergeist III Hannibal Saw 3D
There are no bad sequels/remakes that I've seen, for the most part: Evil Dead [my feelings toward the remake have changed a bit]
Speculation: I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer Creepshow 3

- Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem: For both the Alien and Predator franchises. You'd think a director team who cut their teeth in special effects work would know how to light their film better.
- Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2: I appreciate what the director wanted to do with this film, which makes it that much more painful what the studio actually did to it.
- The Final Destination: Felt less like a proper Final Destination movie and more like a SyFy/Asylum mockbuster version of one.
- Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan: Haven't seen Jason Goes to Hell yet, but I can see why this movie caused Paramount to sell the franchise to New Line.
- Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning: At this point, they were just milking the name. Only the last fifteen minutes or so are worthwhile.
- Hostel Part III: At least the second film had a ton of gore and creative kills, this didn't even have that going for it.
- A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010): Because duh.
- Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension: Ever wonder why they stopped making Paranormal Activity movies? Watch this and find out. Or, better yet, don't.
- The Purge: One of the rare horror franchises where the first film was actually the worst, and the sequels wound up being what the first one should've been.
- The Rage: Carrie 2: A movie that was really damn lucky it came out shortly before Columbine.
- Saw IV: The movie that made me skip Saw V. (Still haven't seen that one yet; apparently, I'm not missing much.)
- Scream 3: The only Scream movie I think was genuinely not good. Between the lack of Kevin Williamson and the damage the studio did post-Columbine, it's a miracle that it wasn't outright bad.
- Texas Chainsaw 3D: Four words. "Do your thing, cuz!"
- Urban Legends: Bloody Mary: The cast didn't care, the script felt like it had been written as an original story with the Urban Legend name tacked on, and the special effects were a sight to behold for the worst reason.

Except that, it didn't. Paramount planned to kill off the franchise several times. Since the early 80's. Selling the rights was the natural next step after that. They preordered the 8th film to be the last well before production even began. Before a script was chosen.
